Additional Context for Module 4

Optional imagery and teaching background for students who want to go deeper into this work

Entering the Whole Energy Body

In the first three modules, we began cultivating the foundational structures of the energy body—grounding, connection to the Above, the central channel, the Truth Cord, and boundaries. In Module 4, we continue building that structure by working with the seven energy centers and creating a more complete inner energy-body landscape.

This module invites us to begin putting all of the structures we have cultivated together: the grounding cord, central channel and connection to the Above, Truth Cord, boundaries, and seven energy centers. Rather than treating these as separate practices to perfect one at a time, we begin sensing them as one cohesive, living ecosystem: your complete energy body.

We are still cultivating the basic structures that make this work possible. And at the same time, this module begins to prepare us for the deeper exploration ahead. As we develop a complete energy body, we become more able to move through our inner landscape, sense what is present, and tend the energy we find there.

The Seven Energy Centers

The seven energy centers are places where the physical body and spiritual body intersect. They are part of the central channel and part of the inner landscape we are learning to enter and explore. Each center is a distinct territory—a place where particular energies, emotions, beliefs, challenges, and forms of information may be held or expressed.

In this work, the energy centers can be understood as spinning balls of energy, each with its own color. They are stacked along the Truth Cord like beads on a string, running from the root or pelvis through the belly, solar plexus, heart, throat, head, and crown.

Each energy center has apertures at the front and the back that can open and close. There are also openings at the top and bottom. The top and bottom openings connect the centers to one another along the Truth Cord and central channel. At the root, this connection extnds into the grounding cord and the Earth. At the crown, it continues into the connection with the Above.

The centers are not separate, fixed objects. They are interconnected parts of one living system. Energy can move through and between them, connecting you with Earth below and the Above through the crown. As you build and tend your complete energy body, you are learning to sense these relationships and experience the whole system as an integrated ecosystem.

Entering an Energy Center

Each energy center is also a space that you can enter and explore as your mini-me. When you work with your intuitive and imaginative senses, a center opens into its own inner landscape. You might find yourself entering an indoor space, such as a room, hallway, workshop, library, or sanctuary. Or it may open into an outdoor landscape, such as a garden, field, forest, shore, mountain, or another place entirely.

There is no correct landscape for a particular center, and they don’t always look the same every time you return. Let the space reveal itself rather than trying to create what you think you should see. The images, textures, colors, weather, objects, beings, or other features you encounter can offer information in symbolic language.

For example, entering a center and finding a locked door, a cluttered room, a dry riverbed, a thriving garden, or a broken object does not require immediate interpretation. First, notice what is there. Stay curious, let the image speak in its own way, and see what you discover through your interaction with the landscape. Over time, you will learn the symbolic language that is meaningful within your own energy body.

For Now, Just Notice

For now, the most important thing to understand is that the seven energy centers are connected places within your energy body that you can enter and explore as your mini-me. They are stacked along the Truth Cord, connected to one another from root to crown, and together form a living inner landscape.

We will work with the individual energy centers in greater depth in later modules. At this stage, there is no need to deliberately search for a detailed landscape, make something appear, or figure out what every image means. Simply begin to recognize that these centers are spaces you can visit.

If you do notice something—a color, an object, a room, an outdoor setting, a sensation, a memory, a being, weather, or another symbolic image—just make a simple note of it. You do not need to interpret it right away. Record it as information you can return to when we explore the energy centers more deeply later in the course.

Moving Through the Inner Landscape

Your mini-me gives you a way to move through the energy body from within. Through your mini-me, you can enter the energy centers, explore the central channel, encounter imagery, meet the Inner Healer, and work with what you discover. This is not merely an exercise in imagination. It is a way of developing an experiential relationship with the symbolic language, emotional life, and inner wisdom that are already present.

As you begin this work, you may encounter unexpected images, emotions, sensations, or impressions. You are not necessarily creating these things by doing the visualization, but rather, you are recognizing what was already active in your inner landscape but had not yet been noticed. We do not always have an accurate picture of what is happening within us until we have built enough of an energy body to begin working inside of it.

You do not need to immediately explain, interpret, or analyze everything that arises. When an emotion appears, let yourself feel it. When imagery appears, notice it. As emotions are allowed to move, the imagery may change on its own. The task is not to turn every experience into a story, but rather to remain present with what is happening.

Emotions are like water in that they are meant to move. A healthy child’s emotions are a great example. They may move quickly and purely from anger, to delight, to sadness, to contentment all in the span of a few minutes. It’s similar to how water can move from a tranquil river, to rapids, to a waterfall, and into mist. And also similar to water, when emotions stagnate, they become heavy, stale, and contrary to the conditions that support life. Our inner landscape gives us a place to allow emotional life to move again, without needing to judge it or explain it away.

Turning Off the Analyzer

The analyzer is the mental function that tries to explain, interpret, categorize, solve, or make sense of our experience before we have had the chance to actually experience it with our other senses. The analyzer is not bad, and it has many useful and important functions in daily life. But when exploring our inner landscape, it narrows the bandwidth available for sensing the energy body directly.

Turning off the analyzer helps create more space for sensing your energy body through the forms of awareness that are most useful for this work: intuition, spirit sight, image, felt sense, emotion, and inner knowing.

Energetically, when the analyzer is on it comes out of the forehead and folds down over the third eye. When it is in this position, it keeps us in analyzing mode and tends to block our spirit sight. The goal is not to get rid of the analyzer or banish it forever. The goal is to turn off the analyzer during this practice so it can fold back up into the head, put itself away, and make room for intuitive awareness.

In the visualization, you enter your sixth energy center in your head and locate the analyzer’s off switch. The Starship Enterprise bridge can be a helpful image for this. The front of the sixth energy center (where your eyes, nose, and mouth are) becomes a kind of inner command center where you can assess what is happening and creatively discover how to turn the analyzer off.

You may find that when you turn your analyzer off, it simply turns itself back on. Use your creativity to explore what your particular analyzer switch needs in order to stay off—with your analyzer folded up and out of the way.

It is also useful to learn the felt-sense difference when the analyzer is off versus on. Notice what happens when it folds down. Notice what changes in your inner experience, what your thoughts sound like, where your attention goes, and how your body responds. The more familiar you become with how this feels, the more you have access to the choice to turn it back off and return to your more intuitive senses.

The Healer Archetype

Healer energy is an archetypal energy. It existed before human beings and will continue after us. It moves through everything in the Universe: humans, trees, plants, animals, ecosystems, and the larger living systems of which we are a part.

We can see this energy in the self-balancing and self-healing capacities of life. Trees respond to injury. Plants grow toward what sustains them. Bodies heal in ways we can support but cannot completely explain or command. Ecosystems also carry balancing and regenerative intelligence. The Healer is the larger wisdom that moves through all of these processes.

The great wisdom of Healer energy is not only about repairing what has gone wrong. Healing is important, but the deeper question is how to live well. Energy body hygiene and maintenance help us learn how to tend our lives before we reach a point of crisis. In this sense, the work is not only about bringing the cow back after it has left the barn. It is also about learning how to keep the cow in the barn in the first place.

Meeting the Inner Healer

The Inner Healer is the embodiment of your particular relationship with the Healer archetype. It is an inner being that can appear in your inner landscape, which is one reason we have spent the first modules building the structures that make this landscape accessible.

All Inner Healers are connected through the same archetypal Healer energy, but each person’s Inner Healer presents differently (although it does tend to present in human or humanoid in form). The Inner Healer tends to hang out in the heart. You can go there and invite it to show itself to you and ask it for a message about what steps you can take to work with your energy body at this time. Allow the relationship to develop through practice.

Your Inner Healer can travel with you anywhere you go exploring in your inner landscape. As you begin intentionally investigating the symbols and information held in your energy system, the Inner Healer can offer insight, guidance, and support. Together with the Truth Cord, the Inner Healer can become a source of guidance as you discern next steps in your process and work with the particular patterns that arise.

Most importantly, the Inner Healer gives you access to the steps you need to take to heal. It is not here to bypass discomfort or offer quick reassurance. It helps you learn how to meet what is real and respond in ways that support deeper coherence and wellbeing.

Death as a Face of the Healer

Death is one of the many faces of the Inner Healer. If Death appears while you are working with the Inner Healer, there is no need to interpret it as a negative sign. Death is part of the Healer archetype. It is not the shadow of healing or its opposite. It is part of the full manifestation of Healer energy.

A deciduous tree does not struggle with the question of whether autumn means healing or death. When the season changes, it simply lets its leaves change color and fall, draws its sap inward, and enters dormancy. This is part of its natural healing cycle. Letting something end makes room for what needs to be born next.

But humans in our culture often have a more complicated relationship with death, endings, and release. We may resist the completion of a pattern, identity, relationship, belief, or way of living even after it has become clear that it is finished. Your Inner Healer may show you that something needs to die, to be released. This is not a failure. And it is often part of the healing energy needed for the next phase of life.

Spinning Roses

Spinning roses is a cleansing practice for gathering energy that does not belong to you or no longer serves you, then releasing it to a place where it can be transformed and recycled. It is similar in purpose to cleansing with plant smoke or other practices that help move the energetic residue we collect as we move through the day.

The rose is an old symbol of protection, balance, and symmetry. In this practice, you create roses with your imagination and charge them with the intention to gather energies that are spinning in the same direction. You send roses spinning clockwise or counterclockwise through your outer energy field and through your central channel. When the rose is full, it stops spinning, and you can send it either to the center of the Earth or to the Highest Power and explode it as neutral golden light. The energy is released to the Universe to be transformed.

You may find that some energy centers or areas of your energy field may require more than one rose. Other spaces may clear quickly. How much the roses gather can depend on what you have been doing, the environments you have been in, the people you have been around, and the current quality of your boundaries. A day in the garden may leave a very different energetic residue than a day in an argumentative meeting or crowded airport.

You can use spinning roses in your inner landscape and in ordinary-reality spaces, such as an office, home, or vehicle. You can also use them in non-ordinary-reality spaces. If you find energy in your inner landscape that feels ready to be cleansed, call up a rose and see whether it can gather that energy. Then send the rose up or down, complete the release, and notice what changes.

Spinning roses is primarily a cleansing practice. It is useful for clearing the energetic junk that gloms onto you through the day. It is different from deeper clearing work, which addresses energies that remain because of personal choices, beliefs, habits, or patterns that need to be tended and changed at the root.

Working With What Does Not Shift

As you practice qigong and visualization, you may find that some things shift with your repetition of a new lived habit while others do not. This does not mean you are doing the work incorrectly. It gives you information.

Sometimes change requires continued repetition. Your energy body is made of habits, and new habits need time to become the new normal. Repeating a repair or practice and new habit daily helps the energy body learn a healthier pattern. At other times, a pattern persists because there is something deeper to investigate: an old belief, a part of you that needs attention, an energy that needs cleansing, or a choice that needs to change.

The work is to hold a dynamic tension between visualizing the desired state and noticing what is actually present now. In qigong and visualization, you may practice the desired condition as though it already exists. At the same time, you remain honest about what you find in your inner landscape. Holding both creates the conditions for inner creativity and intuition to emerge as you discern what is needed to bridge the gap.

There is no way around what you find in your energy body. Trust your body’s wisdom to show you what is real in your inner landscape. Move out of judgment (“isn’t it interesting…”) and work with what is there. The images, feelings, and symbols that arise are there for a reason. Be curious about what they may be communicating, and allow creativity to help you respond.

Principles to Try On

The following principles have been implicit throughout the course. You are not required to force yourself to believe them. Instead, treat them as experiments. Try them on, engage with them, see if you can break them, see what they reveal, and notice where they create resistance in you.

You have a right to be here and take up space. This right belongs equally to every human being, regardless of age, race, wealth, ability, status, or any other human construct.

You have one true responsibility: the cultivation of your soul. This is not a demand for perfection. It is an invitation to orient your life toward the development of the unique soul you are here to express.

You have the power to create change within your own energy body landscape in the present moment. When you create change there, it changes how you experience yourself and your life, and it changes how others experience you.

Your energy and actions follow your beliefs. Your repeated actions can show you what beliefs are actually operating, including beliefs that may differ from the ones you consciously want to hold.

The oldest belief tends to win. When you begin making new choices, an older belief may still direct your actions. Sometimes continued practice is enough to establish a new habit. Other times, you need to find and tend the part of you that is still holding the older belief.

Personal beliefs are changeable. However real or permanent a personal belief feels, it can change. Universal truths about how energy works are not the same as personal beliefs. They cannot be negotiated, but the beliefs you learned through family, culture, survival, or experience can absolutely be transformed.

Working With Each Energy Center

As you continue developing your inner landscape, you will begin working with the energy centers individually. You can use the energy-center chart below as a conceptual map of your complete energy body. It introduces the distinct centers that are stacked along your Truth Cord, their colors, and some of the qualities associated with each one.

You do not need to memorize this information or try to locate, interpret, or work with every center in detail yet. For now, let the chart help you begin recognizing that each center is both an energetic structure and an inner space you may eventually explore.

In Module 5, we will begin working with the centers more directly. You will have opportunities to enter them as your mini-me, discover their spatial qualities in your inner landscape, and explore the symbolic information they may hold. Until then, simply notice with curiosity and compassion what feels familiar, interesting, resonant, or unclear, and record any observations for later.
